A Framework for Exploration
The Remember Project is an evolving framework for exploring how our relationships shape our experience and how different ways of participating might open new possibilities.
It draws from several bodies of thought and practice, including contemporary work in neuroscience and psychology, philosophy, and longstanding cultural explorations of human relationship with one another and the wider world. These influences aren't all saying the same thing, and the framework doesn't claim to represent any single tradition.
The work is less about assembling a final theory than about noticing connections, asking better questions, and testing ideas through lived experience.
Right Relationship
Right relationship is the central orientation of the framework: an ongoing practice of noticing how we participate in our relationships and remaining willing to learn and adapt.
Curiosity, understanding, discernment, and flexibility are four qualities that help guide this practice. They aren't a formula for perfect decisions. They are mutually informing capacities that can help us navigate situations where the right response isn't obvious, where needs conflict, or where circumstances cannot simply be fixed.
Within, Between, and Beyond
The three landscapes offer ways to orient exploration.
Within draws attention to our bodies, nervous systems, thoughts, emotions, sensations, and inner stories. Between explores our relationships with other people, including communication, boundaries, trust, conflict, and community. Beyond considers our relationship with the wider world, including nature, place, meaning, purpose, ancestry, spirituality, and mystery.
The landscapes overlap and influence one another. They aren't separate domains or stages, and the work doesn't require every landscape to be explored.

Story and Experience
Stories help us make sense of experience, but they aren't identical to the reality they describe. The framework invites us to examine the stories we use, notice how they shape our participation, and remain open to revising them when experience gives us reason to do so.
The goal isn't to replace one rigid story with another. It's to develop a more flexible relationship with interpretation while staying in contact with what is actually happening.
Learning Through Participation
The framework is not only a set of ideas for clients to apply. It also informs how the coaching itself happens.
The coaching relationship offers a direct experience of right relationship. Curiosity, understanding, discernment, and flexibility are practiced in the way we explore together, not simply discussed as concepts. That relationship can create room for the client to investigate other relationships in their life and discover new ways of participating.
We learn not only by thinking about experience, but by engaging with it, trying something, noticing what happens, and allowing the experience to inform what comes next.
An Evolving Body of Work
The Remember Project remains open to revision. The framework is shaped by coaching practice, reflection, research, lived experience, and the questions that arise when ideas meet the complexity of actual lives.
It doesn't claim to explain every struggle or provide the right answer for every situation. Some circumstances call for medical care, specialized support, practical action, or resources beyond the scope of coaching. The framework is one way to support exploration, not a substitute for every other kind of help.
What matters is remaining honest about what we know, open about what we don't, and attentive to what experience teaches us.
The work continues through the same process it invites: paying attention, questioning what we think we know, learning through relationship, and remaining open to what emerges.
